Little did I know that the weight of the worry hung on my bones. I found out the hard way – The long way, that the stubborn weight I carried on my Body, directly related to how heavily I was carrying worry everywhere else and everywhere I went. Constant worry about my money situation and how I was going to raise my boys in this new situation literally weight heavily on me. I was exhausted, sad and resentful, and could not fathom out why at the time despite detox’s, diets and near starvation I was not losing any weight.
This was my ‘story’ and why the weight hung around so long. Until one day I felt it all drop away, I let it all go and literally held onto nothing. That feeling saved my life and my body from getting into further disrepair, as I was already suffering a list of other physical symptoms. Sciatica, Ovarian cysts, Digestive complaints.
I see it all now as a blessing in disguise and I turned away from obsessing about diets and detox, raw food as the only way to shift weight and I got more judgmental and obsessive about what I did and did not eat. I got to feel my stress levels and knew how to reduce them in an instant. I got to recognise my undercurrent of worry and was acutely aware that this had created this vast layer of protection about me.
I threw away the diet books, calorie counting and the scales. I discovered the secret to weight loss. I stopped judging food as good and bad. I focused on the reasons why I could not stick to anything I tried before and cleared away the major subconscious mental blocks that were causing my body to keep the weight on.
Then I decided to let go of everything I know, what I had been taught about the body, I followed my intuition, and I started developing different approaches to this problem.
I tested everything on myself. It didn’t just happen over night, it took a while before I finally figured it all out and put all the pieces of the puzzle together.
But when I did, oh wow! It was such a breakthrough for me.
It felt so wonderful that I could let go of the yo-yo dieting, overeating, restricting, binging, and counting calories, and be in complete trust with my body WHILE still losing weight.
This is a no willpower approach and once you learn the fundamentals, you are forever free.
Since then I just wanted to tell everybody about it.
